I'm Michelle, and I stopped eating animal products in 2009. The catalyst was Colleen Patrick-Goudreau's Food for Thought podcast. She happened to be in the middle of a series that detailed the lives of animals before they are killed for food. Like many people, I knew what I was about to hear wasn't going to be good by any stretch of the imagination, but I wasn't prepared for the truth. I was so disgusted and horrified that I stopped eating animal flesh immediately and became a vegetarian.

One month later, I recalled the entire series and thought about the lives of the hens and their male babies, and the dairy cows and their male calves. I knew that I needed to stop eating all animal products if I didn't want to contribute to their suffering and death.

In the beginning, I had no idea what to eat. I remember being hungry because I wasn't eating enough calories. Eventually, I read more, experimented, found social support, and figured it all out.

In April 2012, I started making cooking videos on YouTube. My goal was to explore the many options available in a vegan diet. I used my creativity, curiosity, and determination to recreate cruelty-free versions of many of the flavors and textures that I enjoyed growing up. My message was simple - Vegan life is not a life of deprivation, but a life of abundance and joy!

Today, my mission is to empower and teach as many people as possible to prepare plant-based meals for themselves and their families.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the program last 12 weeks? Why not 30 days like the others?
This is not a vegan challenge where you eat only vegan food for a certain period of time. I think it's unrealistic for someone to jump right into eating all vegan meals without the fundamental knowledge and skills that make this lifestyle easy. This is a program to teach you how to transform your diet over 12 weeks. Each week, you'll try a few more new vegan meals, and at the end you'll eat all vegan meals for 3 weeks. By that time, you'll have lots of vegan meals and recipes that you enjoy and can throw into your regular rotation with ease. You'll keep track of how you feel about the changes, how your body responds, and most importantly which foods and recipes you like the most. After week 12, it's up to you to decide how many vegan meals you want to eat each week.
Do I have to go vegan?
No, you don't have to go vegan at the end of the program. If you decide to continue the journey when the program ends, that is wonderful and I'll be really excited! If you don't, that's okay. You will have the tools, recipes, and mindset to incorporate more vegan meals each week.
When does the program start and finish?
The program starts now and never ends! In the journal, the week begins on Sunday, so you can start this coming Sunday or the next. It's up to you. It's a completely self-paced program - you decide when you start and when you finish.
How long do I have access to the program?
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this program for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
What if I am unhappy with the program?
We would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact us in the first 30 days and we will give you a full refund.
